Our History
BK Custom Coatings Collision Repair has been in business for approximately 22 years, 21 of which have been in the Brantford, Ontario area. Our company is locally-owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team, Brad and Karen Gingerich, from Brantford.
Brad Gingerich worked part-time through high school in a collision repair shop during the 1980s. He continued after high school and signed up to be an apprentice, going to trade college in London, Ontario. There, he received his diploma and wrote for his collision repair licence.
Reputation & Customer Satisfaction Were Founding Cornerstones of Our Business.
Brad worked for several companies in smaller cities and towns, striving to increase his knowledge and skills while learning what it was like to do high-quality work. Brad quickly discovered that in a small town, reputation is everything. After moving to Brantford and working for other shops, Brad realized that bigger cities did not know the importance of quality repairs and good customer satisfaction.
Brad decided to open a small shop on the side of his current job to do custom-painting on vintage cars and motorcycles. However, the motorcycle repair aspect of the business quickly took off, and he started to get busier with that type of work at the shop. It eventually grew to the point that he had to rent a larger building and quit his day job in order to fill all of the customer orders he was receiving.
Now that there was no longer a conflict of interest in the collision repair business, Brad and his wife, Karen, decided to open a full collision and custom paint shop.
The response was phenomenal, and it had to move and grow a second time! They decided to buy-out an existing collision shop that had been in operation for approximately 30 years. The owner was ready for retirement, and it was a perfect opportunity to buy into a larger shop.

We are currently at the same location and are very proud of the fact that we have built our business from scratch by growing our reputation and quality. We like to assure our customers that we are working for them with their best interests in mind.
